OEM, mixer body builders prepare for a selling cycle driven by aging concrete delivery fleet, construction market recovery

Eastern Canada ready mixed market leader Beton Provincial has taken delivery of the largest order to date of Western Star 4700-mounted
mixers, including seven trucks shown here at the Matane, Quebec, headquarters plant near Montreal. Sold through Western Star dealer
Centre du Camion J.L. in Amqui, Quebec, the trucks have London Machine 10.5-yd. mixers, wireless remote controls and Chute Assist, a
release device preventing finger and shoulder injuries. They are spec'ed with Cummins ISL 380-hp engines; Allison 4500RDS transmissions;
Simard tandem front spring suspensions; and, Hendrickson HN 462 Vari-Rate Spring System 46,000-lb. rear suspensions.
Thirty other London/4700 mixers have been assigned to Beton Provincial plants throughout Quebec and New Brunswick.
