The award was presented during the Lytx User Group Conference in San Diego. Weig has earned an internal safe driving award 37 times, once for every year he's been with Lafarge. Throughout his career, he has not logged a single at-fault accident, despite driving more than 3 million miles, and believes in acting as a courteous and professional ambassador for his com- pany's brand, on and off the road. Managers cite the personal ownership Weig takes in his role at the company, customers' overall satisfaction, and fleet equipment. Lytx provides safety services for professional fleets of all sizes, holding the belief that video-based, data-driven training is the best way to create safe and efficient driving behaviors. Having catalogued and analyzed 80 billion-plus miles' worth of driving data to date—reportedly more than any other company in the world—Lytx cites unparalleled expertise when it comes to identifying the best professional drivers and coaches. Through its domestic Lafarge, Holcim and Aggregate Industries businesses, LafargeHolcim is supporting the U.S. Army's Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program to provide opportunities to veterans in the American work- force after their service. The partnership is part of a recruitment option allowing students to simultaneously serve and prepare for their future. "Our talented workforce is made stronger with our veteran employees," says LafargeHolcim Vice President, Organization and Human Resources Denise Devereaux. "A workforce recruiting pathway focused on military veterans is a natural fit for our business due to the skills and values that align with LafargeHolcim, including teamwork, performance, accountabil- ity and a focus on health and safety." "This partnership will contribute to helping take care of today's heroes, the American Soldier, after they serve this great country of ours," adds Army Lt. Col. Derek Keller. PaYS allows employees to work alongside Army recruiters and ROTC programs in grassroots initiatives to mentor future soldiers and profes- sionals. PaYS partners guarantee job interviews and possible employment to future soldiers and ROTC cadets after their time in the Army. The orga- nization also works with individuals on resume improvements, interview advice and building strong qualifications. While serving, soldiers learn technical skills that can be translated to many industries, including construction materials production. The PaYS program supports the Army's mission to recruit high quality men and women while offering an oppor- tunity to prepare for their future after service. LafargeHolcim employs hundreds of military veterans across the U.S. and will soon launch a Buddy-to-Buddy program for newly hired veterans, as well as a Manager's Guide to help build and sustain a veteran-informed culture.
