The 425- x 80-ft. structure is built adjacent to existing production fa- cilities. The 40-ft.-high interior clearance enables mobile gantry cranes, bridge cranes, and lasers, although the structure will soon be fitted with fixed handling equipment, including vacuum lifting devices. Production of the DualDeck Structural System (also see page 29) is pegged for space opposite the tilt tables. Finfrock has oriented the new building footprint around the six self- stressing tables, 16- x 65-ft. Manufactured by Tucker's Machine and Steel Services of Leesburg, Fla., they enable crews to strip product in the vertical position. Each is equipped with levers to disengage stress plates prior to tilting (below). In the spirit of lean manufacturing methods, crews traverse beds with individual tool carts (bottom right).
