46 • February 2017 BRIEFS ACTIVITIES & APPOINTMENTS SELLICK EQUIPMENT FOUNDER WALTER SELLICK, 1918-2017 Walter Sellick of Harrow, Ontar- io, passed away on January 10 at the age of 98. Raised on a farm in Harrow, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941-1945 and was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #338. He managed a Ford tractor dealership through 1968, then teamed with sons Howard and David Sellick to establish rough terrain forklift manufacturer Sellick Equipment Ltd. in January 1969. An avid pilot and Rotary mem- ber, Walter Sellick served as Har- row mayor and in the Harrow and Colchester South Fire Department, along with other civic capacities. He also served on the (pre-AEM) Equipment Manufacturers Institute board and helped the group pio- neer a rough terrain forklift coun- cil. He is survived by Howard and David Sellick, daughter Heather, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Ford tractor dealership tenure prepared Walter Sellick to build an equipment business serving concrete masonry and pipe producers, plus other material handling customers. Looking for a way to gain a competitive edge on your next project? Wouldn't it be nice to finish ahead of schedule for a change? It's time to work smarter with Vacuworx. Now instead of having to use hooks, chains or forks to pull up pieces of concrete, you can remove them quickly and efficiently with the new SS 2 Vacuum Lifting System attached to a skid steer or backhoe. Designed so that contractors can cut, remove and either replace or pour new concrete in a single day, the SS 2 helps teams work faster and safer than ever before. So all you have to worry about is finding other projects for your team to tackle. But our customers really say it best. For example, Komitt Concrete put the SS 2 to the test during a sidewalk restoration project covering more than 1,000 site locations in Rochester, Minnesota. "This is an invaluable piece of equipment that allowed for a significant reduction in the amount of time it took to complete the project…We had to be careful not to remove more than could possibly be repaired in a day. It is perfect for the type of work that we do." — Dwight Gingrich, Komitt Concrete Visit to schedule a demo today! "It's so quick." F A S T E R . S A F E R . S M A R T E R .
