The bridge is the main link between Hatteras Island and the North Carolina mainland. The Challenge: Coastal Precast Systems is supplying the precast products including beams, columns, square piles, pier caps and segmental sections. The project also called for 54-inch precast/prestressed cylindrical p iles. The Solution: Hamilton Form supplied formwork for the precast products includ- ing a cylindrical pile form. The form is made in two parts. The top bolts onto the base form and is removed for set-up and stripping. Coil rods through the exterior of the form act as void hold ups and hold downs for the hydraulically collapsible core that forms the void. Voids were built in various lengths to be asse mbled to cast piles from 94 to 138 feet. The formwork solution facilitates ease of set-up and stripping. Forms were delivered on time to help Coastal Precast meet an aggressive delivery schedule. The next time you need hard-working, practical formwork solutions, call on Hamilton Form to deliver. 817 590-2111 or visit: www.hamiltonform.com "The form is easy to set-up and the interior void collapses just as intended. The surface finish of the product is beautiful and the form has met – no, exceeded all expectations." Joe Rose Vice President Sales Coastal Precast Systems Custom forms. Custom equipment.
