During his tenure with the department, manage- ment notes, he has worked with clients plus internal engineering and architectural staff to produce world-class plant installa- tions for concrete and materials producers. Woodson will be responsible for sourcing business and translating the needs of the clients to all Ober & Associates departments. Engineering and architectural staff will report to him. Matthew Boler has been elected chairman of The Boler Co., the Itasca, Ill., parent of Hendrickson Interna- tional. He succeeds his father John Boler, who passed away in March 2016, and assumes the title in addition to his president and chief executive officer duties. His election ensures that the strategic direction of the company remains unchanged, and positions him to continue pursuing John Boler's vision for the Hendrickson business, spanning medium- and heavy-duty mechanical, elastomeric and air suspensions; integrated and non-integrated axle systems; auxiliary lift axles systems; par- abolic and multi-leaf springs; stabilizers; plus, bumper and trim components. Lennart Brelin has been appointed presi- dent of Niagara Falls, Ontario-based Palfinger North America Group, reporting to the execu- tive board of Palfinger AG in Salzburg, Austria. With extensive market insight and 20-plus years' experience in North and South Amer- ica regions, Palfinger AG officials note, Brelin is uniquely qualified to grow the Americas business while adding value to the brand and customers. Olathe, Kan.-based Terracon, a leading provider of environmental, facilities, geo- technical and materials testing services, has acquired Mayes Testing Engineers of BRIEFS ACTIVITIES & APPOINTMENTS Lynnwood, Wash., near Seattle. Terracon is retaining all of the 100-plus employees of Mayes, which was formed in 1991 through acquisition of Boss Testing. Mayes is known as one of the Pacific Northwest's largest providers of construction quality assurance services, with in-depth welding, concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, and non-destructive testing experience. The transition is effective immediately. The company operates as Mayes Testing Engineers, A Terracon Company. The Mayes team provides special inspections, materials testing, condition surveys and other materials consulting for owners, developers, architects, contractors, and structural engineers. Peterbilt Motors Co. received three Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership Council awards in the areas of Operational Excellence Leadership, Test Flow Improvement and Truck Assembly Process Efficiency, the latter also gar- nering Higher Achiever recognition. Peterbilt has won nine Manufacturing Leadership awards over the past three years. The Manufacturing Leadership and Higher Achiever awards for Truck Assembly Process Efficiency recognize a plant-wide initiative to streamline multiple manufacturing process stages. Effective this month, Rickard Lundberg has been appointed vice president and general manager for Mack Trucks' Lehigh Valley oper- ations. The Lower Macungie Township, Pa., facility produces all Mack models built for North American and export markets. Lund- berg transitions from a three-year assignment as vice president, Powertrain Production, at the Volvo Group's Köping, Sweden, plant. Since joining Volvo in 1989, he has held positions in production, logistics, purchasing and quality. Kansas City, Mo.-based air brake specialist Haldex has appointed Walter Frankiewicz as senior vice president North American Sales, tasked with leading efforts to take the business into the next generation of brake technology. Frankiewicz brings 30 years of executive lead- ership and experience in the automotive and commercial vehicle industries, having previ- ously served as president at Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake LLC. In addition, he served as Meritor vice president and general manager, Strategy and Business Planning and Global Chassis Systems, and ArvinMeritor Inc. pres- ident and general manager.
