52 • September 2015 INNOVATIONS EQUIPMENT & PRODUCTS Communications, connectivity platform Hirschmann Solutions, a leading antenna and transceiver system source, has partnered with telematics service provider inthinc to launch the M2M Gateway. The module provides advanced communi- cations and connectivity for fleet vehicles, heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment—offering telematics service providers and their customers reduced time to market and reduced complexity in system design. "M2M Gateway is the ultimate connectivity device for telemat- ics service providers, offering a 3G upgrade from existing 2G devices today, with a migration to 4G in the near future," says Hirschmann Solutions U.S. President Frank Homann. "Coupled with the unit's GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities, and an open source development environment, we now can offer a single box solution that partners like inthinc can rapidly deploy for their targeted customers and applications." The M2M Gateway allows flexibility to use one telematics device in a variety of applications without the need to re-design and re-cer- tify existing communication hardware. For example, it can be used in vehicle cabs to provide GSM communication and GPS positioning capabilities to a telematics unit without the required modems. In addition, Wi-Fi-enabled peripheral devices can connect to the Inter- net by taking advantage of the integrated Wi-Fi router. The M2M Gateway also features an open source, WRT Linux-based firmware enabling customer-driven feature development, including security, logging, monitoring and tracking applications, without complicated and expensive licensing. The module features a rugged metal housing and operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The unit also is certified to operate in the U.S. and Canada with specific carrier and telemat- ics certifications, including PTCRB, FCC, UL, ICES and RCM. — www. Solid state bin level sensor The SCL series capacitance point level sensor eliminates the problems associated with rotary paddle style bin level indicators, the compa- ny contends, by using solid state capacitance sensing technology to detect the presence or absence of a wide range of materials, including dry and free- ly flowing powders and granular materials. Capacitance sensing techniques suit most applications without calibration adjust- ments. The SCL model features a local LED indication; 20-250VAC/VDC universal pow- er supply; fail-safe selection for high and low level applications; and, can work with target materials exhibiting a dielectric con- stant as low as 1.5. — Aplus Finetek Sensor, Inc., 815/632-3132; Slab repair mortar A single-component, polymer-modified, rapid-hardening, cementi- tious formulation, Spectrum Re-Kote TF is designed for resurfacing of deteriorated concrete slabs or structures. Packaged in 40-lb. bags, it can help smooth rough surfaces, repair honeycombs and dress up bug holes, as well as provide coating for swimming pools, concrete walls or balconies. The product works on both interior and exterior projects due in part to its bond strength and breathable properties. Spectrum Re-Kot TF is color-enhanced for a light gray finish, and may be stained, dyed or pigmented. — W.R. Meadows, 847/214- 2100; www.wrmead- Remanufactured transmissions Company has extended its FLEX Reman transmissions program with the recent launch of the RTO 16908LL 10-speed model, suiting a vari- ety of on/off-highway vocational applications; 12 new part numbers, each with forward shift bar housings that complement the existing standard shift bar housing transmission offer- ings; and, a new delivery policy afford- ing same day shipments. The addition- al FLEX Reman models were added to expand the aftermarket transmissions' availability and are offered for all makes and models of trucks in North America. Crack adhesive, sealer The newest addition to the company's concrete repair and resto- ration line is Hairline Crack Sealer, a two-component, low viscosity epoxy resin system designed to deeply penetrate and bond cracks as small as 0.002 of an inch in structural concrete slabs, parking decks, bridge decks, runways, and industrial and commercial floors. The non-shrinking system penetrates into the smallest fissures, structur- ally bonding the concrete into a monolithic unit. It stops moisture and chemical penetration through the crack—providing a waterproof seal protecting the concrete reinforcing steel from further corrosion. The gravity-fed compound is easily applied on dry or moist surfaces by squeegee or roller. — Thermal-Chem, 800/635-3773; www.thermal-
