42 • August 2014 INNOVATIONS READY MIXED Joining the company's mixer truck-mounted washout containers are the 0.5- and 1.5-yd. Porta-Pit vessels, plus companion Water Dog absorption bags. At 150 lb. (empty weight) with 44- x 42-in. footprint, the larger Por- ta-Pit features high-strength, cross linked polyethylene plastic construction with rug- ged steel fork lift channels and side supports. Coupled with Water Dog bags, the Por- ta-Pit is designed for the easy collecting and disposing of concrete washout materials and water on jobsites. A custom security lid is de- signed to keep workers and site visitors safe when the bin is partially full and not in use, and address environmental guidelines to pre- vent overfow from weather events. Each vessel is equipped with adjustable ratchet tie downs. "The Porta-Pit is the other half of the Washout Watchdog equation [and] the perfect solution to handle concrete washout mate- rials on the job site," says System Develop- er Les Connard. The latter unit suits collection from small rock pumps. The models are stackable and, when loaded, designed to be moved by forklift or truck.
