26 • May 2019 NEWS SCOPE PROMOTION The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association has launched a campaign to build awareness of members' businesses and associated indus- tries, while spotlighting employees who make production and delivery possible. #WeRTexas factors Lone Star State population growth of approximately 1,400 people per day and these material figures 10 years out, as measured against present annual shipment levels: 15 million to 50 million more tons of aggregate; 3 million to 10 million more yards of ready mixed; and, 1 million to 3 million more tons of cement. "Few people realize how much material is required to build the things they take for granted every day as they go about their busy lives," says TACA CEO David Perkins. "We launched WeRTexas so that Texas lawmakers, residents and businesses are aware of how important these industries are to the quality of our lives, how the materials are produced and that member companies are the ones who deliver these essentials to the community— every day, safely and reliably."
