52 • February 2019 FEATURE HARDSCAPES Rosetta Hardscapes spotlights exceptional licensee projects During its 2018 Producer Summit Michigan-based developer and licensor Rosetta Hardscapes presented four producers annual Rosetta Project Awards. The program highlights outstanding work in retaining wall, paver and slab, residential, and municipal applications. Retaining Wall Midland Concrete Products of Clear Lake, Iowa, transformed an unusable lakefront slope into a livable space with two patios and a winding staircase. After initially requesting Rosetta Outcropping, spatial constraints caused the contractor Country Landscapes Inc. to suggest Ro- setta Kodah, a smaller block wall solution, instead. In total, 1,250 square feet of Kodah went into the project, along with 47 Dimensional Steps with three landings to create the winding staircase, and a Belvedere Fire Pit Kit. Manitoba, Canada-based Barkman Concrete chose Rosetta Grand Flagstone slabs to create a backyard pool and patio area for a 15,000-sq.-ft. custom log home while also complementing the rustic look of the massive chalet. The project utilized 10,000 square feet of Grand Flagstone in Pacific Grey in order to "help make the paved area less busy, but instead highlight the detail evident in the product's texture," says Brian Nemez, business development manager – Western Region at Barkman Concrete.
