800.223.4293 40 • January 2019 www.concreteproducts.com NEWS SCOPE PRODUCERS Atlanta-based Oldcastle Infrastructure has secured Virginia Department of Environmental Quality approval for the BioPod Biofilter System with StormMix Media, recognized for 50 percent total phosphorus removal efficiency—the highest available rating. The agency nod turned on Oldcastle Infra- structure field data plus General Use Level Designation from the state of Washington. "Now that the BioPod has received approval, designers in Virginia will have a state-of-the-art, engineered, high-flow rate bioretention option for stormwater treatment and green infrastructure solutions," says Oldcastle Infrastructure Reg- ulatory Engineer Joanna Ogintz. BioPod systems utilize an advanced design for filtration, sorption and biological uptake to remove total suspended solids, dissolved metals, nutrients, gross solids, trash and debris as well as petroleum hydrocarbons from stormwater runoff. StormMix media, an engineered high-flow rate mate- rial, removes stormwater pollutants. Oldcastle Infrastructure offers an optional, integrated high-flow bypass that elimi- nates the need for a separate bypass structure, reducing costs and simplifying the design. BioPod affords municipal or private drainage infrastructure officials design and construction flexibility, and is packaged as an all-in-one, single-piece unit composed of durable pre- cast concrete for ease of installation and long service life. It is set for listing on the Virginia Best Management Practices Clearinghouse site, www.swbmp.vwrrc.vt.edu. Oldcastle Infrastructure biofilter bests water pollution control metrics Oldcastle Infrastructure has evolved its stormwater management solutions portfolio with BioPod and companion technologies as state and local gov- ernment agencies take a harder look at best pollution control practices. BOOTHS C3019 | O31454 SCAN TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TWINTIER SAVE TIME | SAVE MONEY | INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY In 1993 MAX developed the World's First battery powered rebar tying tool. Since then MAX Rebar Tying Tools have been revolutionizing rebar tying all around the world. The RB441T TwinTier is a 6th generation MAX Re-Bar-Tier. The TwinTier features 3 new innovative mechanisms that make it the most innovative rebar tying tool on the market. DOUBLE THE SPEED The TwinTier's Dual Wire Feeding Mechanism (Pat. Pending) increases productivity. COST SAVINGS The TwinTier's Wire Pull-Back Mechanism dispenses the precise amount of wire needed to form a tie, reducing wire usage. SHORTER TIE HEIGHT The TwinTier's Wire Bending Mechanism (Pat. Pending) produces a shorter tie height. Less concrete is needed to fully cover a wire tie.
