60 • November 2018 www.concreteproducts.com FINAL FORM NOVELTIES Indianapolis-based Brizo Kitchen & Bath Co. bills the single-handle Vettis Concrete faucet as a first of its kind fixture and "a feat of engi- neering and craftsmanship, innovative in both design and material … [blending] the finest quality of raw materials and an exquisite geometric form to create architectonic harmony." "I spend a lot of time outdoors and truly respect the strength and beauty found within nature. That was the inspiration behind the concrete faucet," says Brizo Industrial Designer T.J. Eads. "The Vettis Bath Collection inspiration is equivalent to strength found in nature. In its most iconic form—the single-handle faucet—we introduce con- crete. The distinctive sound of water flowing, grounded in the strength and beauty of concrete, reminds me of the quiet moments in nature, just before dawn, waiting for the world to wake up." Victoria, B.C. sculptor Christopher Shannon meticu- lously casts each Vettis faucet from ultra-high-performance, fiber reinforced concrete mixes whose signature hue owes to a carefully titrated infusion of pure charcoal. The concrete formulation showcases natural variations, giving each of the 500 units scheduled for production its own aesthetic characteris- tics. The Vettis bears the EPA WaterSense label, flowing at up to 1.2 gpm. — www.Brizo. com/vettisconcrete UHPC mixes inform water-wise sculptor's vision for a high-end fixture The nature of concrete hand-poured and finished by sculptor Christopher Shannon imparts distinct tex- ture and color in each Vettis Faucet.
