The top 100 producers on USGS Commodity Spe- cialist Jason Willett's current ranking combined for 426 million mt, or 48 percent of agency-tracked 2016 sand & gravel production. The sand & gravel producer profile shows a strong contrast in market concentration and operational scale against USGS figures for crushed limestone and granite players. The top 20 producers on the sand & gravel ranking accounted for 30 percent of 2016 shipments, while the top 20 crushed stone producers were responsible for 743 million mt or 55 percent of output for the year. The top 100 lime- stone and granite operators shipped 1.02 billion mt in 2016, or 75 percent of industry volume.
