52 • September 2017 INNOVATIONS EQUIPMENT & PRODUCTS GCP Applied Technologies, formerly Grace Con- struction Products, will market legacy synthetic microfibers for concrete—Grace Fibers, Microfi- bers and Microfiber FDS plus Gilco Fibers—under the new brand Sinta. The newly named product line includes Sinta F (fibrillated), Sinta M (mono- filament) and Sinta FDS (fluid delivery system) microfibers. "Although the name on the packaging will change, the proven performance of our microfi- ber product line will remain the same," says GCP Global Director of Marketing Pung Chan. "GCP will continue to uphold the high quality and service that concrete producers and contractors have relied upon for years." Sinta microfibers are used in applications where designers, contractors or producers want to minimize cracking due to the rapid surface drying of plastic concrete. Use of the microfibers in the mix protects concrete from stresses that cause cracking, thus improving the overall qual- ity and durability of concrete. Sinta microfibers are used in many applications such as slabs on grade, pavements, overlays, sloped walls, pools, shotcrete, stucco, tunnels, precast, and prestressed products. The Sinta fluid dispensing system delivers FDS microfibers accurately, efficiently and safely at the batching plant, allowing for automated dis- pensing. — GCP Applied Technologies, Cambridge, Mass., GCP APPLIED TECHNOLOGIES REBRANDS GRACE SYNTHETIC FIBERS Presented as a "value based choice for customers," the new Essential Range of forklifts spans 12 models of 10- to 18-ton capacity, each available with a variety of power, mast, cabin and safety options. Built on what the manufacturer notes is a "proven platform," Essen- tial forklifts feature an easy-maintenance electrical system, common driver interface, high-quality components, plus highly stable and durable chassis. The Essential cabin, product engineers contend, improves driver comfort and safety with excellent all-round visi- bility, power steering and easy lift operation, plus non-slip stairs and handrails. Compatibility with Kalmar SmartFleet, an equipment monitoring and optimization tool that makes it easy to analyze performance data, helps to further improve efficiency and produc- tivity. —; Medium duty forklifts
