www.concreteproducts.com May 2017 • 57 FEATURE TRUCKS & COMPONENTS ConnectedTablet is a ruggedized mobile computer for ready mixed concrete and aggregate fleets. "[It] gives our custom- ers an additional choice when selecting an in-vehicle display for their fleet," says Trimble CL Director of Product Manage- ment Jeff Van Grootel. "Not only will this portable tablet enable users to improve productivity inside and outside of the cab, but it also has the strength to withstand the extreme environment of the construc- tion industry." The Android-based ConnectedTablet connects wirelessly to the Trimble Vehicle Gateway (TVG) and provides a rich in-cab experience for the operator, including features such as in-cab navigation with CoPilot Truck from ALK Technologies; Hours of Service; daily vehicle inspec- tion reports; plus, text and push-to-talk voice communications. The TVG uses GPS technology and cellular data to provide vehicle tracking with real-time updates on location and events, using a combina- tion of automated geo-based statuses for site arrival and departure and sensor-based automated statuses for load and unload events. "Pairing the ConnectedTablet with the TVG gives fleets the combination of a rugged device and a powerful software platform, enabling them to maximize efficiencies, improve customer service and increase safety for their drivers," Van Groo- tel affirms. ConnectedTablet was announced at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017, along with a first-of-its-kind Enterprise Record- ing feature for Trimble CL's Radio over Internet Protocol solution, TrimFleet Communicator, that replaces traditional radio communication and serves as a push-to-talk application supporting com- munication between drivers and dispatch, or through point-to-point calls with spe- cific individuals. Enterprise Recording allows an orga- nization to access one year of recorded communication. Users can search their fleet's stored communications by date range, time of day, driver and specific channel. "From providing efficient work TRIMBLE CONSTRUCTION LOGISTICS | CONNECTEDTABLET • ENTERPRISE RECORDING ConnectedTablet TrimFleet Communicator instructions to relaying information on the jobsite, reliable, real-time communication is essential for any fleet in construction mate- rials," notes Van Grootel. "Adding the ability to record communications gives organizations a digital paper trail and tangible evidence should customer billing disputes or safety and compliance issues arise." — Trimble Construction Logistics, www.trimble.com/Con- struction-Logistics/Ready-Mix-Operations.aspx.
