Intended for contractors, engineers, architects and producers, the free app serves as a channel to basic knowledge on the fundamentals of concrete use. It includes concepts and design factors, plus interactive tools that provide answers related to concrete slump, air, finishability and set time. "Concrete Now! is like having a text- book in the palm of your hand," says Brad Violetta, head of Marketing for the BASF Construction Chemicals Admixture Systems business. "We want our customers to get the information they need, when they need it, wherever they are. With Concrete Now! on their smartphones, they'll always have access to information about our products and how to use them. We view this app as one more vital tool from BASF Master Builders Solutions to help make customers more productive." Concrete Now! offers the Synthetic Fiber Dosage Wizard, a unique tool that helps deter- mine the type and proper dosage of synthetic fibrillated fibers or macrofibers required to replace small diameter bars or welded-wire reinforcement used as temperature and shrinkage (secondary) reinforcement. "Fibers are becoming an industry standard for replacing steel for reinforcement," notes Admixture Systems Product Manager Dan Vojtko. "With the introduction of MasterFiber MAC 360 FF hybrid fiber, the latest addition to the BASF fiber product family, we've devel- oped tools such as the Fiber Dosage Wizard to help educate the industry on the best usage of macrofiber technology." Among other key Concrete Now! features are Surface Evaporation Wizard and Concrete Temperature calculators that help practi- tioners understand the effects of ambient conditions on fresh and setting mixes. Concrete Now! can be downloaded free from Apple, Google Play or Windows app stores.
