Syed has 18 years of experience in managing and delivering multi-million-dollar precast contracts, plus a track record of effective engineering and project management solutions. "The time was right to expand the Jacksonville department due to the market demand for structural precast," says Gate Senior Vice President, Engineering Steve Brock. "The [headquarters] office already had a strong nucleus of Building Information Modeling and drafting personnel. These additions increase Gate's design staff to 30 structural engineers." "With this additional engineering capacity, we can better respond to our customers' needs, particularly during the pre-con- struction phase of projects," adds Vice President, Operations Tom Newton. "The vast majority of our work is from repeat customers who are confident the design assistance/collaboration approach offered by our in-house engineers, drafters and managers will help maximize the performance, value and quality of projects." Separately, Gate Precast has added Chris Ard to its Monroeville, Ala., sales team, with a territory including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. In nearly 15 years at the company, he has served in estimating and project management roles. Tindall Corp. has appointed Kelly Men- dez-Scheib as vice president of Human Resources, tasked with overseeing workforce planning and employment, compensation and benefits administration, development, training, and employee relations. She has worked in numerous related positions, most recently as an interim vice president of human resources for a large, Southeast manufacturing company. Addition- ally, she is a Development Dimensions International Certified Master Trainer and Certified Facilitator. Concurrently, Tindall Senior Proj- ect Manager Patty Peterson has tran- sitioned to a new Human Resources post, director of Organization Devel- opment. Additionally, she serves on the American Subcon- tractors Association board, and was previously ASA Metro Washington president.
