www.concreteproducts.com October 2016 • 19 PRODUCERS Oldcastle Inc. parent CRH plc has announced the year end retire- ment of Mark Towe from the board of directors, while continuing in his role as CRH Americas chairman. Towe joined the global con- crete, aggregates and cement producer in 1997 and was appointed a director in 2008. "With over 40 years of experience in the building materials industry, Mark has been a key contributor to the Group both as a senior executive member of the board," notes CRH Chairman Nicky Hartery, adding that the company "will continue to benefit from his vast experience as he remains in his role as Chairman of our business in the Americas." Tremron, a premium hardscape materials producer and supplier in the Southeast, is expanding its operations with the addition of a seventh manufacturing facility, sited in Bowman, S.C. The additional production and distribution will further serve growing demand for the brand, management notes, primarily in markets from Savannah, Ga., to Virginia. Tremron offers a full line of backyard design products, including concrete or porcelain paving stones, eco-friendly permeable pavers, Keystone Retaining Wall block, fire pits and outdoor fire places, plus outdoor kitchens. The South Carolina operation joins six plants and five design centers Tremron operates in Florida and Georgia. An employment branding solution has certified Spancrete as a "Good Jobs Company," recognizing the Wisconsin-based precast/ BRIEFS ACTIVITIES & APPOINTMENTS prestressed producer for the key attributes of Fun, Extreme Perks, Corporate Responsibility, Flextime, GreenDNA, Inclusion, and Career Development. A team from Spancrete participated in a Good Jobs workshop to identify how it invests in staff and communities.
