32 • September 2016 www.concreteproducts.com Herne, Germany-based parent company Schwing Group moved deci- sively on a new executive team following the mid-August departure of Schwing America CEO Brian Hazelton, appointing as successor Bill Murray, chief financial officer since 2012, and promoting Tom O'Malley from vice president to senior vice president of Sales & Marketing. Rounding out the St. Paul, Minn., concrete placement and delivery equipment manufacturer's leadership are Vice President of Human Resources and Administration Lisa Kraft-Kujawa and Schwing Group Director of Engineering & Design Joseph Schnittker, who will oversee engineering, research and development activities across Herne head- quarters and Schwing America's Minnesota facilities. Leading into his CFO appointment, Murray served as chief restruc- turing officer and independent board member, arriving at Schwing America with a resume that included senior level finance, operating and consulting positions at Daimler Chrysler and General Motors. O'Malley has served in sales and marketing capacities for nearly 20 years at Schwing America, joining it after tours of duty with Putz- meister America and Rotec Industries. "I am confident in this team's ability to continue to advance Schwing America as the premium concrete product manufacturer in North America," says Schwing Group Managing Director Dr. Gunther Abolins. "They will continue to lead our talented team of senior leaders and dedicated employees to provide the best products and services for current and future customers." K. WATSON JR. JOINS COMMAND BOARD One of the most experienced executives in concrete, cement and aggregates is the newest member of the Command Alkon board. As a director, Karl Watson, Jr. brings the Birmingham, Ala.-based infor- mation technology and plant controls leader broad indus- try perspective gained from 25-plus years in senior leader- ship roles at Rinker Materials and Cemex USA, culminating in his most recent post as president of the latter. Watson is also past National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and Florida Con- crete & Products Association chairman, and served as Portland Cement Association vice chairman and National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association director. "We are honored to have Karl join our board and bring his pas- sion for our industry's success," says Command Alkon President and CEO Phil Ramsey. "We are confident his industry leadership and depth of knowledge will make a significant contribution to the value we bring to our customers and to our industry."
